This is an easy question. I have several Spanish books in my collection and besides “Español para DELE” from the Cervantes Institute I would recommend “A Good Spanish Book!” by University Academic Editions, because it’s written by a native Spanish. Madeline Miller's The Song of Achilles is another book whose greatest selling point is actually its style. It's a mediocre book, but she uses some of the best turns of phrases. EDIT: Oh, but I get you on the stage directions, OP. I actually tend to script out dialogue beforehand, and my first pass of turning scenes into prose is always awful.
